21610 K12 Learning 2.0: Tools for 21st Century Learners This course is an online learning adventure designed to provide K-12 teachers and other school personnel with an introductory "What's out there?" exploration of some common tools and concepts related to Web 2.0. All course content will be delivered online through Moodle. A primary goal of this course is to model effective use of the technology tools teachers can implement in their own professional practice. Participants will complete 3-5 discovery exercises and learning tasks (called “Things”) per week, in an online environment, with the virtual guidance of a Learning 2.0 facilitator. Completion of activities will require 3-5 hours per week of facilitated work, resulting in a minimum of 30 contact hours, or 3 PLUs. 21280 Science 2.0: Using Web Tools to Promote Inquiry-Based Science This course is designed for grades 6-8 Science teachers. In this online course, teachers will explore the use of online resources to enhance inquiry-based teaching and learning in science. Over the course of this six session workshop, participants will become familiar with science-themed websites, online collaborative projects, science blogs and wikis, and the mapping applications Google Maps and Google Earth. Considerable attention is paid to helping participants identify ways that they can integrate these tools into their practice, and thus enrich their students’ engagement with science content. Promoting scientific inquiry is a central theme, and serves as a lens for this course. Participants consider the issue of assessment, specifically as it relates to inquiry and the use of online tools, later in the course. As a final project, participants develop plans for an inquiry-based science lesson that uses an Internet-based data source.

Participants will learn how to create basic tables, forms, and report.  Students will learn how to create relationships between tables.  Participants will learn how to create simple queries and create filters.

The participant will modify tables and table properties.  They will design advanced queries, create action queries and utilize the query wizard.  Creating and manipulating controls will also be introduced.

51065 Movie Maker In this class students will learn how to create movies with ease.  Topics will include capturing pictures, adding video effects, transitions, voice overs, narrations, inserting audio clips, publish to CD, and Web.
22393 21st Century Multimedia Technology In this exciting workshop participants will film digital video clips using a digital camcorder, capture video into Movie Maker and edit.  Participants will be familiar with various video and image formats and their extensions.  Students will utilize the digital camera, scanner, and digital image editing software. Each participant should bring a minimum of 10 and no more than 15 digital images to manipulate in the class.  The same video editing software, Movie Maker will be covered in this class and the one day Movie Maker Class.

21925 Activboard Interactive Whiteboard Training - Promethean In this workshop students will learn to use ActiviStudio 3's tools and enhancements to create a flipchart to use in their classroom.  Time will be given for participants to work on their own classroom flipcharts as well as present them to the class. Please bring lesson plan materials for the second day of class. These resources will be needed for the final project (flipchart lesson plan).

(Computer Skill Competency Test)
Prepare for the GACE Computer Skill Competency Test. This class will assist you in preparing for the three areas on the GACE test--Basic Operations, Concepts, and Issues Related to Computer-Based Technology and Electronic Communication, using technology-based productivity tools, and integrating technology into the classroom. Please note that while this is a preparation course, it does not guarantee a passing score on the GACE Computer Skill Competency Test; however, attendees who complete the GACE Prep course will be allowed to retake this course for FREE should they fail to make a passing score on the GACE Computer Skill Competency Test.

This course is designed for school administrators using the Georgia Framework for INtegrating TECHnology in the Student-Centered Classroom as a tool for overall school improvement. Participants will focus on identifying and assessing teacher behaviors that indicate instructional changes in five critical areas: Georgia QCCs, use of modern technologies, new designs for teaching and learning, classroom management, and enhanced pedagogy.  All participants will receive performance rubrics that can be used as a guide for assessing a teacher’s migration toward new instructional practices.

This seminar sequence consists of six days with an ETTC member working side-by-side with districts to assist them in constructing a working three-year technology plan. The schedule includes the following sessions: Day 1 (Sept.15): Index, Planning, Needs Assessment; Day 2 (Oct. 12): Vision and Mission, Gap Analysis; Day 3 (Nov. 16): Goals, Benchmarks, Action Plans; Day 4 (Feb. 8): Continue Day 3; Day 5 (Mar. 8): Communication, Marketing, Appendices; Day 6 (Apr. 5): Revising and wrap-up.  All six days included in $50 fee.

Consolidated Application Refresher

Georgia's Consolidated Application provides the opportunity for LEAs to submit one comprehensive application for funding for several federal and  state programs. LEAs are required each year to submit a consolidated application to the Georgia Department of Education in order to receive federal funds. The LEA?s application provides a plan for improving student achievement and sign-off by the local school superintendent signifies that all federal and state program assurances have been accepted. This training class will review the workflow, add programs, complete application data, review award process, budget sheets, and much more. ** Two people complimentary per system. Of those two, one has to either be the primary or backup Consolidated Application Coordinator
(CAC). Additional people per district are $50/person. If districts choose to attend an ETTC that is not their primary center, everyone pays.

Cognos Intro

The one day Overview of Cognos will introduce you to the basic Cognos data reporting tool. This course is designed for the "number crunchers" in school systems who deal with student information.

Curriculum content expands through the use of Internet resources. Through hands-on practice, participants will browse Internet sites locating lesson plans, curriculum resources and instructional projects that will enhance the existing curriculum. An introduction to the Internet, with a focus on using e-mail and exploration of the World Wide Web will provide users with the ability to access other teachers and students worldwide for collaborative educational projects.

72000 Multimedia Technologies

In this hands-on course, participants will rotate through workstations while you discover CD-ROMs, laser disc players, scanners, digital cameras and record and playback sound and video. Participants will leave the basic knowledge of multimedia and its hardware requirements.

72455 Analyzing Student Test Data for Data Driven Decision Making

Accountability in Georgia's educational system is no longer an option. Student test data are a major component of accountability and the ability to accurately use these data will be a significant factor in improving education. Test data analysis is a skill that will benefit educators from the state level to the classroom level. Teachers and administrators who can effectively analyze their own test scores will be able to identify areas of need, address the needs and improve student learning at a much faster pace.

52400 Digital Portfolios for Professionals

This course is designed to assist teacher education students, P-16 educators and administrators in the development of a professional teaching E-folio. Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to understand portfolio assessment and explore the benefits of using an E-folio as documentation for professional skills and student learning. Participants will utilize the E-Portfolio design and development process to begin creating their professional or academic electronic portfolio.

The Georgia Educational Technology Training Centers are proud to announce the development of WebTech--a follow-up program to InTech! WebTech focuses specifically on the use of Web Technology in the classroom. Participants are required to create and implement a variety of Web-based projects and activities including a Scavenger Hunt, WebQuest and their very own Class Home page.
