Leigh Funk, Co-Director
Leigh joined the Educational Technology Center in June 2001 after serving as an Instructor and Coordinator of Educational Technology for the KSU Bagwell College of Education for the past 5 years.  She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Instructional Design for Online Learning and hopes to complete her program by January 2003.  Leigh earned her Masters degree in Special Education & Technology at East Carolina University while working as the Special Education Coordinator for the Halifax County Schools in Roanoke Rapids, NC.  Leigh brings knowledge and experience from both the K-12 and higher education arenas to the ETTC.  Her specialty areas include instructional design, online teaching & learning, and educational technology leadership.

Dr. Traci Redish, Co-Director
Traci earned a Master of Education, Specialist of Education and Ph.D from Georgia State University. She is known for her development of the InTech Professional Development Model --the premier technology integration training solution adopted by the State of Georgia and recognized as one acceptable path for meeting the Special Georgia Technology Requirement for educators.  Traci is also known for her development of WebTech--a follow up program to InTech. Her specialties in educational technology include: utilizing the Internet in the classroom, developing multimedia projects and presentations,  utilizing application software as productivity tools and integrating educational software into the K-12 curriculum.

Brent Williams, Technical Instructor
Brent is a well known consultant, lecturer, and futurist specializing in computer systems technology, networking, emerging technologies, and security. He has over 25 years of experience in the high technology field and worked for over 10 years in Fortune 100 companies as a technical specialist and manager before focusing entirely on education. Brent has a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology and a Master's degree in Technology Management from the Southern College of Technology. He is also a Certified Netware Engineer, Microsoft MCSE and MCP, and is A+ and N+ Certified.

Nisa Peek, Instructional Technology Specialist
Nisa obtained her B.B.A. from Radford University and her M.Ed. at Old Dominion University. Nisa comes to the Center from Chesapeake, VA where she taught Middle School Computers for nine years. She is our Middle School InTech Instructor. Nisa will be collaborating with Georgia educators in the JASON Project. 
Her accomplishments include Virginia Business Education Association's Middle School Business Teacher of the Year Award and lesson plans featured in various educational journals and web sites. While in Virginia, Nisa worked with the Department of Education as a consultant, taught as an adjunct faculty member at Norfolk State University, Tidewater Community College and served on Business Education Curriculum Committees. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her husband, running, scrapbooking, and playing tennis.

Jerrie Cheek, Instructional Technology Specialist
Jerrie attended Georgia State College for Women, majoring in Education. She worked for the Cobb County School System for 21 years for which her last four included serving as the Technology Coordinator for Russell Elementary. Jerrie teaches Elementary InTech along with a plethora of curriculum integration courses. She is also the ThinkQuest coach's trainer. Jerrie is known for her development of WebTech--a follow up program to InTech. In addition, she is known and well respected for her award-winning "Teaching with the Web" site visited by thousands of educators all over the world. Her specialties include: integrating technology into the elementary curriculum, utilizing curriculum software, and incorporating the Internet into classroom instruction.

Kris McBride, Instructional Technology Specialist
Kris received her Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood from Georgia College in Milledgeville. For six years, Kris taught in a first/fourth grade classroom for the Dougherty County School System. She then became an Educational Technology Consultant for the Albany ETTC and taught Elementary and Middle School InTech. In July 2001, Kris began working as an Instructional Technology Specialist at Kennesaw State University. She is currently teaching Elementary InTech and Graduate Elementary InTech.  Kris enjoys helping teachers enhance the teaching and learning process through the use of educational technology.

Stephen Rahn, Instructional Technology Specialist
Stephen received a B.A. from Berry College in Rome, GA and a Masters Degree in Education from the State University of West Georgia. After spending 12 years as a high school teacher, Stephen spent a year as a computer technician in the private sector. When the desire to go back into education became too great to ignore, he came to Kennesaw. Stephen teaches High School InTech, High School WebTech, Microsoft Office, and Web Design courses. Stephen is A+ certified and is also a Microsoft Office User Specialist in Excel XP (Expert-level), PowerPoint XP and 2000. He is currently pursuing a Masters of Science in Information Systems at Kennesaw. He is a native of the Savannah area.

Jennie Viers, Instructional Technology Specialist
Jennie received a B.S. and Masters Degree in Education from North Georgia College in Dahlonega, GA. She is certified in Middle Grades, School Leadership and Teacher Support Specialist. After spending 10 years as a classroom teacher, Jennie spent two years as a Technology Director/Coordinator in Lumpkin County Schools. She went into corporate training where she worked for 2 years as a software trainer specializing in training new computer users. When Jennie realized that she wanted to return to the education arena she joined the staff of Instructional Technology Specialist in Forsyth County schools. She returned to North Georgia College and State University (NGCSU) to get an Education Specialist Degree in Teacher Leadership Instructional Specialist. Jennie then began working at NGCSU as a computer instructor.  Jennie teaches Elementary and Middle School InTech. She also teaches courses in Microsoft Word, Excel and Access. Jennie is an Microsoft Office User Specialist at the Expert level. She is currently living in Dahlonega but has been a long time resident of the metro Atlanta Area.

Jim Wright, Instructional Technology Specialist
Jim has a Specialist degree in Instructional Technology from the University of Georgia and a Master degree from Vanderbilt University. He teaches web site design and development at the Educational Technology Training Center. In addition, Jim developed several large web sites for the State of Georgia.

Mansour Abusaid, System Support Specialist
Mansour received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Kennesaw State University. He worked as a Computer Science Instructor for four years at Greenfield High School. He is currently working as a System Support Specialist for the Bagwell College of Education. Mansour enjoys working with his fellow colleagues to support the various technology initiatives underway at KSU.

Karen has twenty years of elementary and college level administrative experience. She has been with Kennesaw State University for 5 years. She came to Georgia six years ago when her husband retired from the military.

Andy is a recent graduate of KSU's Cole's College of Business.  In his spare time he enjoys tending to his award winning rose garden, interior decorating, and he shares a passion for needlework.  He's also been known to dabble in spoon collecting.
