|
The Georgia Educational Technology Training Centers are proud to announce the development of WebTech--a follow-up program to InTech! WebTech is a fifty-hour technology professional development program developed at the Educational Technology Training Center at Kennesaw State University (KSU). Realizing the need for advanced training for InTech-certified teachers, Instructional Technology Specialists at KSU, Dr. Traci Redish and Jerrie Cheek, designed and implemented WebTech during the summer of 1999. WebTech has proven to be an extremely effective program in helping teachers understand how to fully integrate the Web into their everyday classroom instruction. WebTech focuses specifically on the use of Web Technology in the classroom. Participants are required to create and implement a variety of Web-based projects and activities including a Scavenger Hunt, WebQuest and their very own Class Home page. In addition, teachers participate in a variety of exciting Internet projects and activities! WebTech is based on six "Building Blocks" fundamentally important to teaching with the Web.
Each area is explored for how it might serve to strengthen pedagogy, commonly known on the Web as Webagogy. Just like InTech, the strength of WebTech lies in the modeling and development of actual curriculum-based activities using the Web. Teachers are not only shown how to use the Web, but how to make it a vital part of their everyday teaching. Comments: webmaster |
